This article details how to hide notifications on an Android lock screen for more privacy. You'll still see app notifications, but only if your phone is unlocked.
Follow these steps to stop notifications from showing up on the lock screen:
Open Settings and select Security & privacy.
Scroll down and choose More security & privacy.
Tap Notifications on lock screen.
Choose Don't show notifications at all to hide all alerts, or pick Show sensitive content only when unlocked.
Other Androids work a little different. Here's where to go in Settings to turn off Android lock screen notifications:
Open Settings.
Tap Notifications.
Tap Lock screen notifications.
Tap Hide content.
Alternatively, keep Show content enabled, but tap the settings button next to it to control which app notifications should be hidden.
On older HTC phones not running stock Android, select Settings > Sound & notification > When device is locked to access these options. If none of these methods work, search for lock screen in the Settings app.
